Notarizing the papers that protect your family
Estate planning documents come in a thick stack, often with more than one signer. Patricia takes her time with them. She checks each signer's ID, goes through the notary pages with you one at a time, and shows each person where to sign.
Because she comes to you, older parents don't have to travel, and nobody has to take an afternoon off to sit in a waiting room. Many families do the whole signing in one visit at home.
You can ask questions as you go. Patricia explains each notary step in plain words, so nobody feels rushed or lost in the paperwork.
Documents she notarizes
As a living trust notary and power of attorney notary, Patricia regularly sees:
- Living trusts, trust amendments and certifications of trust
- Wills that call for a notarized signature or affidavit
- Durable powers of attorney for finances
- Healthcare powers of attorney and advance healthcare directives
- Deeds that move a home into a trust
Your attorney writes it. Patricia notarizes it.
Patricia doesn't draft documents or give legal advice. Your attorney, or the service that prepared your plan, does that. If you have a question about what a document means or which version to sign, ask them before the appointment.
Her job is to identify each signer, make sure each person signs willingly and understands what they're signing, and complete the notarization correctly. If your plan came from an online service, read its signing instructions. Some documents need witnesses as well as a notary.
What to have ready
- A current government-issued photo ID for each signer
- The full set of documents, complete but unsigned
- Your attorney's signing instructions, if you have them
- Witnesses, if any document calls for them
- A table with room to spread out the pages
- No ID for a signer? Ask about credible witnesses.
When a parent is at home or in care
If a parent is homebound or living in a care facility, Patricia can sign with them there. The signer needs to be alert and willing. See hospital and nursing home visits for how to prepare.
Patricia speaks Spanish, so Spanish-speaking family members can ask their questions directly. Planificación patrimonial en español.

Questions people ask
Can several family members sign at the same appointment?
Yes. Each signer needs to be there in person with their own ID. Tell Patricia how many signers when you book, since Nevada's notary fee is set per signature. See fees.
Will you help us fill out the trust?
No. Patricia doesn't prepare documents or give legal advice. Have your attorney or the document service finish everything before she arrives.
Do you come out on Saturdays?
Saturday hours are 1 to 6 p.m. Outside her regular hours? Call or text and ask.
Can you notarize a deed into our trust at the same visit?
Yes, if the deed is complete and the signers are there with ID. Your attorney prepares and records it.
