Small town, real paperwork
Boulder City grew up around the building of Hoover Dam, and it still feels like a place apart from the rest of the valley. People know their neighbors. Many have lived here a long time, and plenty chose it for retirement.
That means a lot of estate planning: living trusts, wills, powers of attorney and advance healthcare directives. It also means property papers, from deeds to affidavits, when a family home passes to the next generation.
Some families have one parent in Boulder City and grown children scattered across the valley or out of state. When it's time to sign, Patricia can come to the parent's home so the parent doesn't have to make the drive into town.
Why calling ahead helps
Boulder City sits beyond Henderson, so Patricia likes to know the plan before she sets out. When you call or text (702) 690-9757, tell her:
- What kind of document it is and how many signers
- Whether everyone has a current government-issued photo ID
- Where the signing will be: home, office, or a care facility
- What day and time work for you
Home and care-facility visits
Patricia notarizes at kitchen tables and at bedsides. If a parent is in a care home or recovering at home, she can come there. The signer has to be aware and willing, and the documents need to be complete but unsigned. If someone has no valid ID, ask about credible witnesses. Read more about hospital and nursing home visits.
She is patient with older signers. She'll go at their pace, read the notarial wording aloud when it helps, and make sure they know what they're signing.
Fees, hours and the fine print
Notary fees are set by Nevada law; an acknowledgment is $15 for the first signature of each signer. The travel fee is hourly, capped by law, and agreed with you before she heads out. Full details are on the fees page.
Patricia doesn't draft documents or give legal advice. Your attorney or the document's issuer does that. Hours are Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Saturday, 1 to 6 p.m.
