Unhurried estate planning signings
Sun City Summerlin is Del Webb's active adult community, and many residents are updating their estate plans, sometimes for the second or third time. These signings involve several documents and several signatures, and nobody should feel rushed. Patricia sits down with you, checks IDs, makes sure each signer understands what they're signing, and works through the stack one page at a time.
Her office is in the Summerlin area on W. Park Run Drive, so she knows the area well. She is NNA certified, background-checked, and bonded and insured for $1 million. Clients have said she was friendly and informative, and thorough with the paperwork.
Bringing the family in
Adult children often help set up these appointments, sometimes from out of state. That's fine. They can call or text to schedule, but the signer still has to be present, understand the documents, and sign willingly. Nobody can sign on the signer's behalf without legal authority. If a family member is also signing, as a trustee or agent, they need their own ID too.
Documents she notarizes here
Most Sun City Summerlin calls are about these. See estate planning documents for more.
- Living trusts, trust amendments and certifications of trust.
- Wills and pour-over wills that need notarized signatures.
- Durable and healthcare powers of attorney.
- Advance healthcare directives.
- Deeds moving a home into a trust.
When a spouse is in the hospital or care
If the person who needs to sign is in a hospital, rehab or nursing home, Patricia can go there. The signer must be alert, aware, and willing to sign, and must have a current government-issued photo ID. If their ID has expired, ask about credible witnesses. See hospital and nursing home notary.
Before the visit
Have your attorney's documents ready and unsigned. Patricia doesn't draft documents or give legal advice, so questions about what the trust says go to your attorney. Notary fees are set by Nevada law, and travel is agreed before she heads out.
She also serves nearby Summerlin, Lone Mountain and Centennial Hills.
