Estate papers for golf-community homeowners
Many Rhodes Ranch homeowners are settled in, with a house, savings and family to think about. That is when estate planning happens. Attorneys and online services prepare the trust, the pour-over will, the powers of attorney and the healthcare directive. Then everything has to be signed in front of a notary.
Patricia handles that last step at your dining table. She checks each signer's ID, confirms everyone understands they are signing, and notarizes page by page. Peggy P. said it well: "She offered to come to my home to help me with my Notary needs."
She speaks English and Spanish, too, which helps when relatives are joining the signing.
Gated streets
If your street is behind a gate, add Patricia A. Shabel to your guest list or tell her how to get in when you book. It keeps the visit on time.
Many signings happen around tee times and family schedules. Pick a window that works, and let Patricia know if anyone else, such as an adult child or a trustee, needs to sign too. Every signer must be there in person with ID.
Before the appointment
Patricia doesn't draft documents or give legal advice. She makes sure the signing is done properly.
- Read your documents ahead of time and send questions to your attorney.
- Leave signature lines blank until Patricia is there.
- Have a current government-issued photo ID for each signer.
- Know how many pages need notarizing so the fee is clear.
Fees and hours
Nevada law sets the fees: $15 for the first signature of each signer on an acknowledgment, $7.50 for each additional signature of that signer, and $15 per signature on a jurat. A trust package can include many signatures, so ask for a total when you call. The travel fee is agreed before she heads out. See the fees page.
Hours are Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Saturday, 1 to 6 p.m. Outside these hours? Call or text and ask. She also serves nearby Spring Valley, Enterprise and Summerlin.
